Sure, you can just open a can of tomato soup and heat it, but if you're opening cans anyway, may as well be freshly canned tomatoes for a tomato soup you make yourself. This soup recipe requires nothing but canned tomatoes, seasonings already in your cupboard and the secret ingredient: our Organic Sourdough Sea Salt Crackers blended into the soup. Easy and soul-warming.

 

Ingredients

  • 15oz can Crushed Tomatoes
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt¼ teaspoon Garlic Powder
    • ¼ teaspoon Onion Powder
    • 1 teaspoon Sugar
    • 1oz Organic Sourdough Sea Salt Crackers, crumbled, 10 crackers
    • 1/4 cup Water

     

    Putting It All Together

     

    Step one: Prepare the Base

    Empty the can of crushed tomatoes into a medium pot. Add the black pepper, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder. Heat the tomatoes over medium-low heat for 5 minutes, stirring continuously.

    Step two: Blend

    Add the soup base, crackers, sugar, and water to a blender. Blend for 3-4 minutes until the soup is completely smooth. Caution, blending soup while hot may cause spaltter - operate blender per manufacturer's instructions.

    Step three: Serve

    Serve the soup with additional sourdough crackers on the side or crumbled on top.
